Cyme is now updating its Mac Photo app Peakto to version 1.10, and with it come some impressive speed increases.
What's New?
That will make Peakto users very happy. In Peakto version 1.10, users can count on an impressive performance upgrade, demonstrated by its ability to process a catalog of 12,000 photos in just 4 minutes and 30 seconds, compared to the previous 9 minutes and 30 seconds. Peakto is designed to efficiently handle even larger photo catalogs, including those exceeding 100,000 photos.
Peakto consolidates a photographer's entire image collection into a single, unified interface. Whether captured with an iPhone or a dedicated camera, stored within a photo-editing software catalog or a regular folder, Peakto provides access to the photographer's entire image library and empowers him or her to take simultaneous actions on all his photos. Peakto enables sorting, annotating, album creation, and utilizes artificial intelligence to simplify the photographer's life. Its image-recognition capabilities automatically categorize photos based on their content and introduce innovative search options, including description-based and similar-image searches.
When I reviewed Peakto earlier this year, I was amazed and pleased at its AI searches for photos in my large library. Photos I had thought were lost were easy to find using the AI search, and it was quite accurate. The company calls this skill Conversational Search, and for me, it has been a game-changer.
This latest version isn't just focused on the latest Apple Silicon, but also performs very well on older Intel Macs. Claudia Zimmer, CYME CEO:
During the holiday season, photographers actively dedicate time to cataloging their image collections. It was important for us to meet this deadline and deliver software capable of helping photographers in this task. We're thrilled to announce that after 9 months of hard work, Peakto is now faster and better than ever before! With a revamped software architecture, Peakto can handle large volumes of photos with lightning speed. Throughout 2023, we've also added exciting new features to make the photo cataloging experience even more enjoyable. We take great pride in presenting this achievement as a valuable year-end offering to our esteemed users.
Peakto also continues to integrate with other photo editors, including Apple Photos, Lightroom Classic, Luminar Neo, Capture One, Pixelmator Pro, DXO PhotoLab, DXO PureRAW, ON1 Photo RAW, Aperture, and iView Media.
I haven't thoroughly tested this latest version, but I did throw a folder of several thousand images at it, and it performed at least 40% faster than the older version.
