The Terry Richardson You Don't Know

The Terry Richardson You Don't Know

After reading the comments on the Miley and Terry article I wrote the other day, it made me realize how many people are in the dark about Terry Richardson's talent. I am a huge fan of Terry, mostly because he has an 'I don't give a damn' attitude but he turns out some pretty glorious images when you aren't paying attention. Most people when they hear the name Terry Richardson they think creepy, old, incredibly lucky photographer who gets to see a lot of boobs. But in reality he is highly talented and brought in millions last year for doing much more than mediocre white wall shots.

Why the New Pinterest and Bing Partnership Should Make You Use Pinterest

If you use Bing, you'll notice that in the image search, they added a Pinterest bar on the righthand side. This new feature brings up pinboards with whatever key words you're searching for. With the new feature it pulls directly from Pinterest and shows you in a minimized sidebar. Here are a couple tips to help make sure you are properly naming your pins and taking advantage of the new feature.

Terry Richardson and Miley Cyrus, at it Again (NSFW)

Terry Richardson and Miley Cyrus, at it Again (NSFW)

Terry Richardson and Miley Cyrus are completely, as you'd say in middle school terms, MFEO. Or made for each other if you can't remember that far back. They both have taken the spotlight and thrust it upon themselves by stepping out of the box and making people want to see whatever they're going to do next. Apparently in their world it just means a whole lot of nudity which may or may not entail Miley thrusting herself into an Arizona Grapeade.

The iPhone 5S and its Promise for Better Images

The iPhone 5S and its Promise for Better Images

Well first off, I am not positive anyone actually retained what the specs on the new iPhone 5S are going to be. Mostly because I'm sure the only thing running through their minds was 'I love goldddddd' from Austin Powers Goldmember. But lets push aside the fact that you can rock a phone that will glisten in the sunlight like a shiny olympic medal and talk about some of the much needed upgrades on the new 5S.

Six Free Tips to Make Sure Your Relocation Isn’t a Career Ender

In the photography world, social media connects you with a multitude of people and not a month goes by where someone doesn’t mention they’re moving. The first comment they always make is ‘I don’t want to start my business all over again!’ But if you have developed a sturdy business in your current location there is no reason that continuing your business somewhere else shouldn’t be a possibility.

Four Ways to Improve Your Customer Service

Four Ways to Improve Your Customer Service

When dealing with clients every little thing we do or don't do can affect whether or not they will refer us on to their friends or colleagues. The digital age not only helps us communicate and run our business but sometimes it is a hindrance to our ability to run a successful and personable business. Taking a step back and looking at the things you are doing currently and how they come across to your clients is your best form of action.

Court Rules Against New Mexico Wedding Photographer for Same-Sex Discrimination
*/

Yesterday, wedding photographer Elaine Huguenin of Elane Photography, LLC was ruled against by the New Mexico Supreme Court stating that she cannot discriminate against same-sex couples. This is a direct result of Vanessa Willock of Albuquerque filling a complaint on December 20, 2006 against Elaine. After inquiring to Elaine about photography for her September 21, 2006 wedding day, Vanessa received an email response back for her same-sex wedding that she was not what she expected.

Photos Re-Envisioning History in Color

Photos Re-Envisioning History in Color

Almost everything we know from history is in black and white. We are so used to seeing everything in the past sans color, but recently a Reddit group called 'Colorized History' was discovered that has changed the way we can view it. It's a group of talented individuals who get permission to colorize old photos. They take political figures such as Abraham Lincoln to actors like Clint Eastwood and turn simple black and white photos into dimensional colorized works of art. Along with the photos listed, each of their links have a plethora of images they have converted as well.

The Client Blog: A Look into the Mind of Clients

In the past week, here on Fstoppers, we've been talking a lot about blogs for your business. But recently Joey L sent us over one that caught our eye called The Client Blog. It has been started by Andy Baker, Group Creative Director for the National Geographic channels. Andy has been writing, editing, producing and Creative Directing promos and print ads for the last 19 years. Andy decided to start the blog as more of a personal creative project and it's starting to evolve into something much more.
