I see you trollin'
I’m not sure what you mean! It’s a genuine picture - the scar on his stomach is real. I chose this one rather than a more ‘standard’ shot because it tells a story that evokes a response from a lot of people - it reached Popular status on 500px in minutes.
Im not sure why this has such a low rating, this is a powerful image.
I don’t understand either. If you see the comment above, someone thought the image wasn’t even a serious entry, but was trolling!
I think this is a pretty powerful image. Bit grainy, but that is what it is. I like the bit of motion blur on the dog's paw, and the fact that when I saw it I immediately said "poor puppy" out loud means it was successful in transferring the stress of the dog and the people around it.
the rating system is flawed... it seems it's not intended for this kind of pictures
I like the picture to the story - the picture alone tells a little bit of it by itself, but my question is if this is a 3star what type of genre are you shooting for? For all those dogs who got an operation? For a normal dog portrait? I think nobody wants to think about their own dog and a operation.
Fine Art? I mean its art soo, but don't know who wants to hang this on their wall.
If you are shooting for storytelling - well that would work.
so I give 5 stars for storytelling
2 stars for shooting dogs, because I would not 1.post this on my portfolio or 2. want to see it in a portfolio of someone who want to make photos of my dog.
I’d say it’s journalistic/storytelling photography rather than portraiture
