I took this photo of a flower that is in a state of decay after blooming. It caught my eye, and I thought the way the petals folded into itself imparts an emotional, bittersweet response. I took this photo using the Panasonic S1 and the Sigma 35mm f1.2 at f1.4. in early evening.

id have rated better had more been in focus. or the head of the stamens

Thank you very much for the feedback.

I personally find the dying as important as the living. Nice Shot.

Thank you so much, James! That's exactly what I was going for.

I love the concept of beauty in the unexpected. My struggle with this photo may be a personal one - because of migraines I'm more light sensitive than most - but the brightness of the light just above the flower makes it hard for me to focus on the flower itself in the full image. When I clicked the image to full size, then clicked once more to zoom in it suddenly became a much more striking photo because it wasn't overwhelmed by everything around it. On a side note... the aged flower reminds me of the photojournalist who takes close up photos of wrinkly old people. I can see why this caught your eye.
