It's very cute. I would suggest a few improvements if the opportunity ever comes up again:
Having the cat and bag off center suggests that there is something interesing in the upper right portion of the background. There isn't. A golfer (or gopher?) or something would justify this crop. Having the tip of the ear just off the edge feels wrong to me.
The color grading is interesting, but a bit aggressive on the sky. The clouds are blown out.

We have the critique the photo you posted, and this is a different picture than the one you posted.
I know, that is why I asked these people directly in the comments instead of asking the overall community. That is also why I posted a link to my profile not to this contest. I understand contest rules...
I think that works better, especially given the fact that you didn't cut off the tip of the ear. The flag is also well placed in the background, giving a bit of focus to the that part of the image.
This color grading/HDR is almost offensively bright and distracting and the cat blends into the background, instead of sticking out from it.
