Self portrait taken in a desert conservation area in southern California. Initially planned on making it look moonlit in post, but my light stand was too short and I couldn't make it look right. So I just cloned out the stand and left it as-is. Thought it looked kinda cool anyway, however ridiculous. Improvise!

Cool shot, Joshua trees look like an alien planet to me. The pose is kind of aimless, maybe facing away or arms folded like a self portrait would give a more intentional look.
Thanks for the feedback. This is my biggest issue with the image too. I think my inspiration here is some of the photos Reuben Wu did for the music artist Tycho in which he looks very casual and zen in the scene. I have a hard time doing a natural stance so I'll walk back and forth and take 50 shots exposed for myself. Then in post I'll choose the least forced looking one. It's an area to improve for sure.
