That's my first product photo ever taken, I'm working in a completely different field as a photographer. Still, I tried to take a product photo to broaden my horizon, inspired by the fstoppers tutorial on product photography. But of course, I'm not such a great graphic designer as Brian.

I rigged up this shoe on wires hanging down to showcase the whole design including the sole. As it comes to lighting: I used ambient light mixed with my strobe with a beauty dish attached as the main soft light and a speed-light to fill in the sole. In the end, I light-painted the shoe from many different angles, cut it out from the background and blended it together in Photoshop.
