Hi all,
I've fairly recently started to become serious on my car and track photography. If you indulge me i would like to learn and get better at it.
Please feel free to provide input, suggestions ... i'm a bit older, so i can take a bit of direct input! :-)
Cool shots. Motorsport photography is a challenging subject and is highly gear dependent based on the movement and distance of the subjects.
The longer of a telephoto lens you use, the more you're going to be able to isolate your subjects and provide a sense of motion through panning. I had to rent lenses for quite a while for events as they're pretty expensive, not sure if that's an option in Europe or not.
Don't hesitate to crop if needed and try dutch angles along with rule of thirds content positioning to provide a sense of motion. I've uploaded an example - even though it's one car on the track. you can get an idea of the motion via the positioning and angle of the subject.
Hope that helps, keep it up!
Deleted User Thank you for the input Rob! Just received my Tamron 150-600mm G2; it makes a huge difference over the 300mm i had.
