The Dancer's Scars

My friend Pam the Ballerina, was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. At age 58 she still teaches a dance class at her dance studio. While photographing her she commented "my knees are ugly". I looked down while she was changing shoes and there was the story. The hard work these beautiful, elegant and graceful people put into the art of ballet can not be understood by those who don't appreciate it. But this photo gives you a peak at what they endure over a lifetime.
