Retired, I have a number of good LTM/m-39 lenses. Switching to digital, can I use these lenses with a mirrorless camera body w/adapter? It would be nice to use my better Pentax K-mount lenses with another adapter.
I like prime lenses. I consider a camera to be the gizmo between the lens and the film/sensor. I like small gear.
What camera brands should I shop for? The Leicas are too pricy. Small is good. Video is unnecessary. Camera-based image stabilization would be nice for this older guy.
I shoot on a Nikon Z6, it's fantastic for manual work, because you can natively adapt all the old lens mounts to it (natively = adapters without glass in them), it has great manual focus aids, and best of all, it has in-body stabilization! You can completely ignore the video in it if you want as well, the great thing about mirrorless is you're not sacrificing good video for good photos and vice versa.
I actually have a couple of PK mount lenses I adapt, a MIR-47 (which I think in part due to the wonky Soviet PK specs, doesn't quite hit infinity - maybe a few mm off), and another more recent zoom that adapts perfectly.
Example shot from my Mir-47K:
