EOS5DmkII Sent this body to Canon Service in July of 2019. After 8 weeks and many calls, it was finally ready. They literally replaced just about everything but the housing and charged me nearly as much as a new camera. Specific to this post (as only one of the items replaced), they replaced the main PCB. To be fair, before it was over, they discounted the final price significantly and provided an 18 month warranty. Shortly after that, I went in for my surgery and my picture taking ceased until recently. Two weeks ago (after about 100 frames), it died again. I called Canon Service to start a Service Order and was told service for the MkII ceased in January 20, 2020. Warranty or not, they don't have parts and service is no longer available. Next, I sent the body to a shop in Chicago that has done good work for me in the past. Yesterday, I got their estimate: it needs a new main board for another $500. "But Canon says they don't have parts any more. Where will you get the parts from?" "OH, we ONLY use Canon parts" which I believe. I called Canon back to plead my case and maybe get some additional consideration. Nope and no exceptions. I'm appalled. I can't afford another camera right now so I'm about to drop the money again, but wanted to put my case out there to those smarter than I and find out if maybe I'm missing something in options in how I'm handling this. Thanks to all of you. Jim
