Glad I was already in my car before the heavens opened. It went incredibly dark, but it didn't last for very long, and the sun was soon out again.

LUCY IN THE SKY
I just messed about with the photograph of a luscious, large green tree against a nice blue background with the clouds, but I decided that was boring, so this is what I did to it.

INTENTIONAL CAMERA MOVEMENT OR INTENTIONAL BLUR
I'm going to be trying this again because I rather like the outcome of this on my lavender in the garden, which has finished for the summer now, so I couldn't go and do it again.

There is some lovely composition with the first image, the focus on the grasshoppers head and him/her(?) peaking out from the stalk is playful and cute. There is a lot of shade and shadow in the image though and this may take away a little from the overall look.
With the colour image there isn't much to see of the grasshopper so (to my mind) this image doesn't tell us much.
