Alan Brown's picture

alone in the storm

One of my favorite personal images. I had more or less planned this image, waiting for the right conditions to shoot.
This came when a major snowstorm blew through the region - navigating to the location was treacherous and the empty roads surreal. There was not a soul around - just myself, the tree and gently falling snow. I can't think of a time when I felt such calmness, and am reminded of that each time I look at the image.

This is the definition of minimalist. Very nice.

Thanks Phillip!

Hi Alan,. The 'lone tree in winter landscape' is a common subject so you really have to do something special to stand above the pack. Yours does for me! I think it is because most of the others make it about winter and this is about the tree. That may not make sense! Two thumbs up!

Thanks Ruth, that makes perfect sense. I really wanted to tell the tale of the small tree set against a vast snowstorm.

One of my favorites in your portfolio Alan, very nice.

Thanks Joe, you have already noticed it is one of my favorite locations.....
