Chris Jablonski's picture

Shed

Not much to say about this, except that it was very big, and that it's gone now. :-(

I don't know what it is about walls that I like so much. Perhaps it is that the big expense is like a canvas for texture and color to be the stars. This one, however, is tricky as the lines are so tight, they play tricks on the eyes. I find it hard to look at. Sorry Chris!

It's only minimalist (or rather, simple) in concept. It's pretty full of "stuff" - to assault the eyes in this case for you, Ruth.

Ruth, I expect that this image is just not your thing, but I'd be curious to know if either of these images of a smaller portion, are any easier to look at. Don't subject yourself to agony on my account!

I join in the fun club of this image.

Thanks, Radisa.

Wow Chris... The textures and dimensions really make this picture work. With all of the nuances it's damn near hypnotic.

Thanks a lot, Reed! That's how I find it. It reminds me, on thinking about it, how some rhythmic music which some people find repetitive and boring, or even annoying, appeals to others, who find it hypnotic, and revel in the nuance (that includes me, obviously!). You wouldn't do a hundred variations of this shot, but I'm very disappointed I can't do any more images of it. It was a very interesting subject!

Mesmerizing - have you tried a conversion to B&W? I think that may offer interest also.

Thanks, Alan! I guess I should; it's an obvious candidate. Much of the nuance I enjoy is in the shades or rust, though.

I can certainly see the attraction to the rust, just feel that B&W may offer a different option (not as a replacement).
I think the detail and textures cry out for at least an attempt.

Lots of suggestion and ideas here. I totally get why the structure gripped you and how sad that it is gone! It even has me thinking of things I would do! I would try Alan's black and white as the lines would look great. I like both of the tighter door crops. What I would REALLY like to see are some abstracts cropped out of interesting places on the wall. ;)
