I just wanted three layer for my composition. The beach, the sea and the sky. Something simple, not basic, but mostly refined to the essential for this seacape.
That's a long time exposure to eradicate the waves and keep the soft white line between sea and beach gravels. Also, I wanted to conserve the texture of peebles/gravels of the beach. Finaly, I did not want any person or boat, any object which could have troubled the composition.
I like the simplicity, David - something of a hallmark of yours.
One thing slightly distracts me; sea horizons that are not dead level catch my eye, and some others'. Some people seem untroubled by minor tilt. In this case, the image is SO simple that the details (for me, anyway) are critical. So I've done an edit with the slightest rotation (0.3 degrees) and perspective shift (-2/100) to get the horizon and water's edge dead parallel.
Curious to see if others think if my edit is a waste of time.
No disrespect to you, David, for what's a fine image.
Beautifully simple, nice one David.
I do have to agree with Chris about the horizon, especially being so minimal. A minor fix, still nice composition, as usual.
I have to say I agree with Chris, and it is the first thing I noticed. I'll have to take his perspective shift idea and apply to some of my own - I think I have some lacking in this respect.
Like others, I do appreciate the simple composition.
I agree. You and Chris are right.
Darn that horizon!
