I spent most of the day chasing an owl that wouldn't cooperate. But I got the deer I just posted in Landscape and Nature and this one. Two shots I like in one day is a good day!
You seem to be in the mood for sombre, quiet, low-key images this day, Ruth. I like the tangled forms here, and as ever, your composition, in particular. A little surprised you haven't rendered it as a monochrome, as the colour is so subtle to start with.
Thanks Chris. I tried this in mono but it seems that it lacks enough tonal variety in the branches and didn't have any life. And, like the deer, sometimes when you strip images down this much, they need the color in order to have enough interest and life to them.
:)
PS It might have been this fellow who is a coloful beautiful owl but was against a cloudy but bright sky and moving a lot and I just couldn't catch him the way I wanted to.
