Like the Milky Way, very familiar celestial forms that are hard to do "differently" and stand out, but still extraordinarily beautiful and awe-inspiring, reminding me of my insignificance in the Great Scheme of things.
Great image Chris - I love the positioning of Jupiter, it helps create a virtual triangle between itself and the lit edges of the moon.
Awe-inspiring indeed!
Thanks, Alan. This was the only day I could have made this image! Jupiter made it worth the trouble.
I can actually just make out its moons, to my great surprise. I saw some faint spots around it, unsure if they were stars, so I took more images of Jupiter over several days. Amongst all the noise, on enlarging, I could make the moons out, moving day by day. Amazing.

This is a great shot! I'd say how lucky you were but luck has nothing to do with it! Really nice Chris!
The more I think about this one, the more I realize that this was a once in a lifetime shot. It is so perfectly aligned. I'm happy for you!
