The Skies Opened Up

We were driving up Rte 422 to go to a Reading Phillies game and this is what we saw ahead of us. The last picture in this set doesn't fit this group's format and is just to give context for the telephoto shots. There was a rain delay and we came home instead of waiting it out. That's how you know I'm old.

The first one I really like. I see lots of colour noise maybe it could use some noise reduction.?

Not quite certain what you are seeing, so I don't quite know what to say in reply. As you can see from the wide-angle shot, there was not a lot of color in the sky. And this camera (Nikon S9500) has minimal exposure controls and far less dynamic range than my "real" camera, a Nikon D810. Hence, the contrast and saturation were enhanced a lot in post. I did not have the histogram turned on so I may have gone a little farther than was warranted.

Oh, maybe it's just my screen.

I see the noise as well Jeremy. Sometimes fstoppers' upload process can have this effect as is the case here I'm guessing. Its frustrating when you get feedback and can't see the issue yourself! I have experienced this with 'soft focus' feedback when on my screen I'm tack on.

Interesting shots Andrew. That first one is the most successful in my opinion. Great exposure, composition and colors!

Keep them coming!
