I haven't posted an abstract in a while - even though it is a favorite genre of mine. Here are two photographs from a series titled "Up in Smoke" I'd love your thoughts!
You're good at these, Ruth. Like 'em both! I prefer the monochrome. I like its composition a lot. For some reason that rather vivid blue puts me off the second, but I suspect it's in the context of the slightly moodier first one. On its own, the second has an uplifting liveliness and buoyancy. Anyway... I couldn't resist a moodier variant, perhaps reflecting winter here, and approaching rain as I write.

I like both quite a lot. They look like impressionist paintings. And I agree with Chris that they seem better in isolation. I had the same initial reaction to the second, but then I scrolled the first up off the top of my screen so only the second was visible. That let the blue one shine.Strange what context can do.
