Hey Jeremy. Very nice shot and eye.You definitely composed an interesting photo here, a bit of a calming abstract with those colors,I love that blue amongst the surrounding neutrals. Catching that rainbow was nice.

If I may suggest, because the lines in this piece are so strong in the vertical and horizontal, I would straighten and level those lines as best you can according to the upper portion which would instantly strengthen this, I wouldn't be concerned with the reflection not being perfectly aligned, it adds a unique character to this. I did a quick straightening below. Again nice one.

Great feedback Joe. I think you are spot on.

The misalignment suggestion was my immediate reaction also Joe. I do like the coloring of this, calming as you point out.
I might try one step further and crop from the top a little to see how it affects the balance. Not sure if it would add or detract but worth experimenting with.

I agree about the possible extra crop you suggest Alan, might be a good way to offset the composition.

Thanks Joe i will definitely fix that up

I straightened the horizon then I also brightened it up a bit maby it looks a little better.

I wonder what this would look like in black and white. I like the geometry. I'm with Joe in that squaring the camera when shooting would have improved the shot. Nice eye in seeing this shot.

Hey, John, I tried B&W but I don't think it looks as good.
thanks for the idea though.

I would punch it and greatly boost the highlights and put more contrast into the clouds.

that's what I tried

Love this Jeremy! I love the color and line. Simple and elegant. Great work!

Thanks ruth

Well spotted and captured, Jeremy! I agree about straightening up - I'd add that no matter how you try to "get it right" at time of shooting, you'll still find it can do with fine-tuning in "post". And yes, there's something really appealing about those colours. Quite unusual.

Thanks Chris
