So many waterfalls across the groups lately! They had me thinking about our local Tinton Falls. So I went high tailing over today to take my shot. Funny, I thought I remembered it being taller. And in a prettier setting rather than behind a strip mall. Oh well! You work with what you've got! So, here is my local, short, isolated falls!

I like it. A new approach to an old cliche.
Wonderful detail in the water, you chose a good exposure length as the water isn't getting 'marshmallow-y'.
My only wish is that the surrounding environment wasn't so dark.
I was wondering about the dark background and foreground, too. Perhaps a means of cutting out the strip mall? Nice capture of the fall.
A good take on this subject, Ruth, as the others say. It is darkened so much (by increasing contrast, in part?) that you've got blocky black artifacts towards the edges, dead black with no detail. Took it just a bit far. Can preserve the dark feel you obviously want without creating those.
