Great work, Jeremy! You're very imaginative. I like the first one particularly, probably because the cluster of pencils forms a cohesive whole, framed by that even, OOF background. The OOF pencil tips add a nice touch - those green and yellow ones, for instance, looking is if they're glowing.
I like the first one too Jeremy. I can count on one hand the number of times in my life that this suggestion was made but .... I think the first one in a square crop would be really nice!
I wondered about the colour, but on reflection, think it being close to that of the wood in the pencils works well, emphasising the colour in the leads without using obviously high saturation.

Well if I were to tweak composition, it's be to put the cluster off-centre (probably left), keeping the aspect ratio.
This would be nice on a seamless white backdrop.
