I love the way the two shapes interact!….

A colleague recently commented that my architectural work and my portraiture seem to be at such odds.
That made me sit back and really think about that.
In the end I've come to believe that the two are very much similar.
My location portraiture work is all about exploring and trying to articulate visually a core truth of the person.
That is very much what I try and do in my architectural work as well. Find an underlying fundamental honesty in the design and execution of the space.
Some times that is by showing a grand vista and other times it's by giving voice to a subtle detail.

So do I, Julian! Nice job. I tend to prefer the subtle detail to the grand vista. I'm a bit grand-vista-ed-out...

Just as we connect with someone through something so small as the eyes, so too a little detail in a grand space tends to be how we anchor our relation with that space. Thanks Chris for taking the time to comment.

So do I! Great spot. Do you have the opportunity to go back to this location?

Thank you Ruch. Yes that is just a tiny hole in the wall (literally) in grand home that I covered for a book that is in the works about a great character here in Myanmar. It is an amazing house.
