Great job, Joe! Another great image from you. Totally agree about the movement. And I like your composition - just the right amount of space around that point, for instance - as well as your moody processing.
Pity you didn't do a 100-image focus stack and get the foreground dead sharp. ;-) I wouldn't have either.
LOL, "100 image focus stack", yes I agree, what was I thinking? :)
This image was a 'shoot-from-the-hip' shot, one of many I have been trying lately to help keep things interesting for myself. This branch was about 9 inches or so off the ground, as I was walking by I just reached down with my camera (had my 11mm - 20mm lens and polarizer attached), kept the shutter pressed, and ripped off about a dozen or so shots. Did a quick assessment of the shots to see if anything looked promising, liked what I saw, then moved in to snap a few more. Certainly not an award winning shot, but I liked the quick fire aspect to it and the resulting image. I did this about a dozen times while on 'walkabout' <-- see what I did there, but so far this one and one other I haven't gotten to yet seem worthy of a second look. Fun though. Can't wait to try more with different subjects.
Great job Joe. I have it on my list to search for and capture trees with similar lines & texture as this - you've provided a nudge in that direction.
I really like the lines that lead me through the image and the full tonal range. Like Chris I feel the balance and presentation is spot on. Like you say, perhaps not an award winning subject but I feel you've done an exceptional job to bring out the best in what you have.
I feel Chris may be better qualified to create images during a 'walkabout' - I see what you did there :-)
Looks interesting Joe you know im horrible with abstract so i can't say much lol
I remain hopeful about you, Joseph... ;-)
thanks Chris but i have had only 1 successful abstract, that patch of ice
And those were great! Do more.
On it 😉

Love it.
Thanks much Chris.

This is awesome! How fun and what a great idea. Then to catch such a great image. Win Win Win!

Thanks a lot Alan, glad I can be inspiring to you, I always appreciate your minimalist tree shots, I'm always on look out for subjects like those.
