Dark Farmhouse Door

I had an opportunity to explore an 1860's era farm. In the old grainy this was the door to the upper level. It was lit by one old incandescent bulb hanging just inside. I am sure i will keep playing with these but I was really taken by this scene I happened across. CC is welcome.

Hi Kristopher - Welcome! This is an interesting series. I like the first one. The second and third could be a little more exposed. The great cracked paint on the door is really cool but I think it could be a little brighter. I hope to see more from you!!

Thanks Ruth. I realy did no editing to these, I was just so excited how I found this scene. One thing I am still trying to get a grasp on is the difference in how things look on my computer monitor vs the rest of the world. I am finding my monitor view is alomst a stop brighter so my submissions are trending dark.

I'm with you! My monitor gives me grief as it is darker. I do a lot of dark work like this and get feedback that there can be issues in my blacks that i can't see. Frustrating!

These images have great potential but are on the dark side. I am not at a computer but perhaps someone else will do a screen capture and show what they are seeing.

Keep posting!!

I took a second look at the settings and brightened these up a bit. Better-Worse? Needs more? I am open to feedback. Thanks
Kris

Great series Kristopher !! I'm really drawn to the brighter versions of the door but in saying that, they still keep that moody almost creepy atmosphere that makes you wonder .... what is behind the door ???

Thank you. It is a challenge to get bright enough to show detail and be interesting but still keep that eery feeling.
