This heat wave it a killer! So, I've been painting. For those new to the group, I do abstract painting partly with the goal of photographing the works. I love the luminous nature of the photographed works. And, you would think an artist/photographer would be able to tell if they like something or not but I'm on the fence about these!
Feedback welcome!
I like it. It may have more impact with a non normal perspective and maybe even tilt and shift lens.
Good idea. Thanks for the feedback!
I like them. First two are my favorites. They have more of a backlit look to them.
Thanks Kevin!
I like them, Ruth, and agree with Kevin. Did you use a swiping motion with some sort of pain-laden scraper, like Gerhard Richter does in a more linear style? Or brushes? Or both (my guess)? Or neither...? Don't have to tell us. Anyway, you got three for one!
Thanks Chris! These are done with string dipped in paint, laid on the canvas and then dragged off. Sounds easy but there is a little bit to it. Its quite a mess and totally fun!
Thanks for the thumbs up!
:)
Sounds like great fun! I'll have to get back into painting. Gooey oils or acrylics. I used to salivate painting thick acrylic with a knife! Like icing a cake.
