Back to a bit of minimalism. This was taken during a light rainstorm. I was drawn by the way the weather helped minimize a distracting background and the mood created by the storm clouds hanging over the island.
Sincere feedback both welcomed and appreciated.
Very peaceful- almost looks straight out of camera? Quite like the overlap between sea and sky.
Thanks for your input Emmett. There was not a lot of processing needed for this, just overall global adjustments and a few local tweaks.
The island appears to be floating .. love the moody feeling Alan.
Thanks Sandra - I appreciate your thoughtful feedback.
Quality shot and composition Alan, nice work.
Beautiful tones, great 'soft' detail top to bottom, and I love the nearly no-horizon aspect here, a horizon would have distracted the island subject and possibly muddled the calm flow of this piece.
Thanks Joe, I always value your insight. I have an increased appreciation of what light rain can bring to the image - a bit like fog ,,,, but wetter,,:-)
Nice job, Alan! I agree with Sandra about the floating. Very dreamy and restful.Your simple composition helps that. Good when you can make the horizon disappear sometimes.
Thanks Chris - I have to thank Mother Nature for the job she did on hiding the horizon (and land mountains beyond).
Nice one Alan. I'm normally not a fan of portrait format landscapes but this is perfect. I particularly love the lighting fade on the water. Really nicely done!
Thanks Ruth. I would typically agree on the portrait mode but this an instance where I tried both and had to answer the call of nature :-)
The image just felt right this way.
Agreed!
