Kyle Foreman's picture

Beach Painting

Here is another take on using the panning technique at the beach. Would love to know what you think.

Beautiful, but it would look better as a large print hanging on a wall.

Really nice, but beware the little spots from sensor dust; they will show up extra hard with this kind of technique.

Agreed - edit those out and this is STELLAR! Like WOW good.
:)

Thank you!

Very interesting outcome. Definitely recognisable, especially in atmosphere. Would perhaps consider a bit more muted pastel like colors. No need to go over any tops here (imo, ymmv, ce, etc). I do feel the bottom left is slightly unbalancing the image.

Maybe lifting up the blacks would create a more understated colorappearance and solve the blob. Just a thought.

Thanks for all the feedback everybody. I'll have to revisit this. Unfortunately I'm not even sure I still have the RAW image. This image is a few years old and I used to think backing up my images wasn't that important. Lesson learned!

As long as you dont blow this up too large it will be fine. I only saw to sand because i was pixel peeping to see what the ICM looked like. This is totally a keeper and absolutely lovely work!

Thank you!

Great mood and colors. Well done.

Very nice ICM, Kyle. I do also see the sensor spots others have commented on, and Phillip is right about them being more visible in these kinds of images. I've done a load of ICM work myself, and the last thing I do before I finish any of my images is to zoom in to about 200% in Photoshop and go over the entire image to remove any spots that may be there. It's sometimes difficult to see the spots at a lower zoomed in level. Even at 100% I sometimes am not able to see spots that I find at 200%. It can be a painstaking process, but the impact of an image without spots is so much more than one with spots. :) I do hope you'll continue to experiment with ICMs, though. I'm a bit biased, as it has been my primary focus for the past couple years. But, I always love to see others giving it a go!
