... that I also was experimenting with color in water. So those two pictures are the result of a whole afternoon... I had no idea to use the flash, to mix the color and how the heck I should do it (putting paint into the tank and shoot a picture). It was a fun experience with a lot of swearing... ;)
Picture #1 I put acrylic color with pressure into the tank
Picture #2 Its an edit, where I mirrored the picture and made some Rohrschach Image. It reminds me to some kind of insect face. I have no idea what a psychologist is thinking about my opinion! :)
I will really give it another try! You'll see the results for sure!
Nice work! I would be interested in knowing how you got the mirror reflection on the surface. I like the Rohrschach (Chris - it is always a butterfly no matter what) but I am sorry it's 'nose' is cut off! Still - awesome!
I saw a fellow who did the forced flow but somehow he figured out how to do it in bursts so he got a free floating blob. Very cool too.
Looking forward to more!
Thank you Ruth. I can't remember how I did this. I only used 2 flashes. It could be how I had them placed. Sorry.
Both are really appealing images. You have a knack for balancing the colours and forms into a pleasing whole. I'll refrain from Rorshchach responses, though!.
This is awesome, the setup had to be pretty intense for this
Actually not. All you need is some kind of water tank. I have a 11 liter (3 gallons) tank. I've never found something, where the glass was clear enough. So I went with that small fish tank. The next thing you need is a flash (better 2) and pipettes and color.
For me the intense part was the cleaning of tank, because it's getting cloudy really fast. Also to figure out how to shoot the picture while trying to use two pipettes... The trick for me was the shooting mode "5s timer and 5 pictures". There are some black pictures in between, because the flash wasn't fast enough to recycle. ;)
Boom, bloom. Great and colorful work.
Thank you very much Chris!
