Imaginary seahorse

I had used this feather in a previous short lived and failed photo session. I tossed it into a box of bits and pieces, still soaked with water. Weeks later I came across it again and this is what I saw .. a seahorse.

You've done it again, Sandra! A very striking image with weird & beautiful colours that should look garish, and instead look... otherworldly. Love the seahorse's bowed head.

Sincere thanks to you Chris. I too love the bowed head 🙂 Cheers !!!

Yes, brilliant. Absolutely reminiscent of seahorse, and yet, at closer examination, it isn't. Love that ambiguity. The colorscheme adds to that intrigue. Great combination with a background well chosen.

Perhaps maybe a little more space at the top so the "antennae" stand free? Or maybe not, gives it that underwater look of a chance encounter with a wonderful creature.

Thank you so much !!! Totally agree about space at top. Would have given it a more overall better look. Cheers !!

A oft ignored/undiscussed skill in photography is the ability to see the shot in the subject prior to taking it. Not just to see the seahorse in the feather, but to see it with the bokeh background, spotlit lighting, etc and then make that vision a reality. You are a true artist because you have the ability to do this.

While this is another great image from you. I wish the feather wasnt clipped off on the top edge. Picky i know but there it is!

Beatiful work Sandra!

Not picky Ruth ... just spot on 🙂 Thank you so much for your comment ... always greatly appreciated !! Cheers !!

Sandra McCabe I absolutely love your eye

Many thanks Rodney ... a very happy comment 😊

I think you really see things differently. Don't get me wrong, I mean that in a good way. ;)

Thank you Gion-Andi. Your comment is sincerely appreciated 😊
