Gion-Andri Derungs's picture

The Sphere

I have a new toy. The Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO. So I could not wait and used the pause in raining, to make some test shots. I found this almost perfect sphere. I have actually no idea, how these droplets hold on the leaves. But it makes it a really good minimalist image. :)

Feedback as always welcome!

Fantastic!

Thank you very much Chris!

Congrats with your new toy ;-)

Nice picture too ! seems like a serious crop ?

Thanks Ian. It's not that extreme. Here is the original.

I prefer the original crop actually. Enjoy the new lens and look forward to more of your work with it.

Thank you Robert for the feedback. The original crop is okay, but I do not consider this as minimalism. ;)

nice

Thank you Francisco.

Excellent shot, nicely done.

Thank you very much Joe!

Nice one, congrats on the new lens!

Thanks Troy!

wow that's amazing.
nice capture

Thank you very much Jeremy!

Really nice capture Gion-Andri. I really like the clarity of the sphere with that wonderful catch-light on the left.

For me (entirely subjective) I would like to see a different crop and extending the lead in line a little more, but I can appreciate what you're after.

Can't wait to see more!

Thank you Alan. The clarity of the sphere was the goal. I struggled so many times with it. I spent at least 30min to get this picture and was happy that the wind did not blow the drop away. ;)

I can understand your opinion on the crop with the leading line. My first crop idea was a vertical 2:1.
