Troy Straub's picture

Harry Lauder's Walking Stick

I posted this over in the landscape and nature group, but thought I would see what you folks over here think of these. They're somewhat abstract so I think it fits in with this group too.

I was playing around with a vintage lens (Quantary 70-300 for Minolta) this morning. Not sure what gave it such a painterly look (compression from the long focal length, high ISO noise, overall softness of lens...) but I kind of like the way they came out. Pics are almost straight out of camera, just changed profile from Adobe color to Adobe landscape, resized and exported.
Any CC is always welcome.

There is certainly a complete world of wonder to be found in that scene! The Catkins look so bizarre with the removal of a meaningful scale reference.

Thank you

love the second shot - intriguing shapes and shades

Thank you. I still can't decide which I like better, but happy with both.

Interesting - they do have painterly feel, perhaps strengthened by the pastel shades and overall softness.
As with Marian i prefer the 2nd - it has more form and lacks the business of the first.

Thanks for the input.
