Here's a little bit of high contrast black and white. I'm wondering if it is too jarring though. I love the straight lines in round shape. The stark black and white might be too harsh though?
Not at all too jarring, Ruth. It's certainly not a "soft" image, but I find it vibrant, and if not alive in its geometry, then dynamic - perhaps electrifying comes close! Confinement hasn't damped your creativity, Ruth. Definitely one to save in your subfolder in my FS folder.
After talking about cropping in Joe's recent post, I thought I'd out up the second image of the same subject just to compare as I wasn't sure which direction I should go. Like you (Alan) mentioned in Joe's post, I usually shoot a little wider than my goal in order to leave myself room to play with the crop.
Remember, Ruth as the OP you can edit this discussion and add (or delete) images in the main section on the left. While it's pretty obvious here, with subtler variants it's good to be able to toggle directly between them, which we can with images on the left.
Hi Ruth, both the images generates different feelings. To me, the first square one is vibrant, dynamic and a bit aggressive (so to say). The second one with its white space at side is more balanced. the central white circle has a relation with the negative space. I guess that's the way graphic contents gets designed.
cheers.
Had I not seen Vijay's comment I would have said that each image has it's own place, bur as he has already done so.....
Really, this is great example of how a change in crop can create a totally different feel to an image. I find both images excellent, for completely different reasons.

Thanks Chris. And I have a folder? Someday it would be interesting to see what you saved!!!

Powerful and mesmerizing image Ruth. Once your eyes enter the frame and are pulled toward the center it's hard to pull away.
Very hypnotic.....

I DID forget!!
That's better.

Thanks Vijay! You have reinforced that I like them both for different reasons!
Very well put, Vijay. I agree, now that you've pointed this out.
