Cloud and fog gathering at sunset before an impending snow storm. Taken at Abisko, Sweden, up in the Arctic Circle in early December of last year. Due to the nature of the far northern latitudes, this was taken at "sunset", which was at approximately 1 in the afternoon. By 2 or 3pm, the whole area was in complete darkness, where we lied in wait before searching for the Aurora Borealis later that night.
This is a place on my bucket list with the hopes of some day taking an image like this! So surreal! The color and lighting is amazing. Great composition. This is really nice. I hope you also saw the Arora? I never have. Thanks for sharing this interesting and beautiful image.
Thank you so much I'm glad you enjoy it! Yes I did see the Aurora, though the clouds covered up a fair bit of it, so nothing spectacular unfortunately! I'll have to come back again and hope for a better display.
