Black & White Ink 1

Hi All,

Normally my "inks" are in bright colors. sometimes, however, the black and white version works better for me. This is water soluble suminagashi ink in water. I use this ink because of the very reason these images sometimes get constructive criticism about focus. That is that the ink is dissolving rapidly into the water and therefore has a soft, ephemeral and surreal look. The inks are dropped in at different rates and through an oil barrier which provides some control. Then I flip the final image.

I'm posting two separately because they are so different. Just mentioning as I don't usually rapid fire post. 😁

Feedback always welcome!

Ohhhh! This one competes with the new iPhone wallpapers! OMG!

Lovely sense of space and movement in this one, Ruth, with your characteristic moodiness. (Your images', not yours!) You get the most graceful, improbable and beautiful forms in some of these.

Another great image Ruth. There's not much I can say on these that I haven't already covered…..

Austin, Texas Blue Hour

Was down in Austin for a bit on a work trip. I've always heard how beautiful the skyline is from the river.

Was a little let down by the clouds, but what can I do!

Two from Tenerife

My two favourite images from my recent night time adventure in Tenerife. Foregrounds and skies were shot separately and blended in PS.

Any interest in this group?

Hi all, I was looking for such a group but see that although there are many members there hasn’t been a single post. Is there interest out there in getting this group going?
