Black and White Ink 2

Hi All,

Normally my "inks" are in bright colors. sometimes, however, the black and white version works better for me. This is water soluble suminagashi ink in water. I use this ink because of the very reason these images sometimes get constructive criticism about focus. That is that the ink is dissolving rapidly into the water and therefore has a soft, ephemeral and surreal look. The inks are dropped in at different rates and through an oil barrier which provides some control. Then I flip the final image.

I'm posting two separately because they are so different. Just mentioning as I don't usually rapid fire post. 😁

Feedback always welcome!

Love this one, Ruth! Typically, you've caught it at a dramatic, evocative shape and composed it well. I like that inner glow. It reminds me of clouds, nuclear explosions, and Donald Duck - covers all the bases, really, doesn't that? ;-) Nice job, and good to see you doin' yo' thang! Keep doing! My Ruth Carll FS folder keeps growing.

Incidentally, is it white ink, or a mono conversion? There seem to be hints of colour. Although his bill isn't orange.

It is white ink with a little heavy cream for bulk! I definitely need to get back into these inks. I miss them.

Superb image Ruth. The lighting is spot on, highlighting the depth and form.

This is definitely uniquely Ruth.

Austin, Texas Blue Hour

Was down in Austin for a bit on a work trip. I've always heard how beautiful the skyline is from the river.

Was a little let down by the clouds, but what can I do!

Two from Tenerife

My two favourite images from my recent night time adventure in Tenerife. Foregrounds and skies were shot separately and blended in PS.

Any interest in this group?

Hi all, I was looking for such a group but see that although there are many members there hasn’t been a single post. Is there interest out there in getting this group going?
