Austin, Texas Blue Hour
Was down in Austin for a bit on a work trip. I've always heard how beautiful the skyline is from the river.
Was a little let down by the clouds, but what can I do!
Two from Tenerife
My two favourite images from my recent night time adventure in Tenerife. Foregrounds and skies were shot separately and blended in PS.
Any interest in this group?
Hi all, I was looking for such a group but see that although there are many members there hasn’t been a single post. Is there interest out there in getting this group going?

Hi J... also being new to this genre I'm not really well equipped to offer much help except to say that i feel the images are not quite abstract enough...
I know its not much help, but its all ive got. Keep it up though as am i...
Understood
Hi J. I feel that minimalistic images need a strong and recognizable form as a primary subject and a lack of distractions throughout the rest of the image.
I think you have the right idea in your first image, but the subject itself is not strong enough to hold the eye. On top of that, the highlights in the water really pull the eye, especially at the top of the frame.
The second image has a more recognizable form, but the background is a bit busy for me.
Keep shooting with those thoughts in mind and I think you'll see a marked improvement - the main thing is to enjoy the process
I have included an image that meets my own criteria just so you can see what I'm aiming at.
Great example, Alan. Thanks.
