I really like this Marius. Compositionally pleasing, nice tones and a pertinent meaning.
My only suggestion I can give is a thought of trying with a bluish, perhaps stormy background to help strengthen the symbol of despair. (In that case I'd keep both).
I agree largely with Alan here. The photo itself is very well done, but I disagree about the bluish idea. The very warm colors for me shows an idea of hope and joy. Almost moving forward, such as symbolized through a sunrise or sunset. Since you mentioned hope for the hopeless as your motivation, I feel the yellows and oranges fit it best.
Just to be clear Chloe, I am not suggesting that this image be replaced, but that a second image could be created that reflects not hope but the despair that many felt as the power went out.
I do agree that the existing image offers a more symbolic, new dawn.
thank you all for the comments ... some background .. this was taken with windchill to -27C on a sunrise ... whilst thinking of my friends in Texas and thought to dedicate it to them and also much broader to all that needs some hope, warmth and "power"

My apologies Alan. I misunderstood your original post. That’s my fault.
Very well captured.
