Minimalistic images for review

As we focus on the subject on minimalism I thought I'd dig through my catalog and throw up some of my older images as examples for review.

Feedback always appreciated, it might be nice to get an indication of favorites so we can gauge appeal across the community.

Image 1 , Image 2 for interesting concept.

Thanks for your input Vijay.

Like 'em all, Alan! 1>2>3>4

Something pleasantly mysterious about the angler in the seamist, like some of your earlier posts with the mist.

The wall reminds me of mine below, only it was about 100 Fahrenheit when I made mine!

The grass in snow is classic minimalism, evocative for me of east Asian scroll paintings, even haiku, with its few "syllables".

The last one is fine, reminiscent of Michael Kenna for me - perhaps just slightly unbalanced in that the tree is a bit high. I'd be tempted to crop around the tussock so it's closer to the corner, except that I hate cropping!

Thanks Chris.
1 - the sea mist shot was one of many captured that day. The mist was only there for about 30 minutes and the sun glowing through created such a fantastic soft lighting. I was running around like crazy looking for compositions before the fog lifted.
2. Agreed, and I know I commented on your excellent image. This was taken some years ago but I never really liked it until I reworked - funny how styles change and a 'fresh eye' works.
3. A newer image taken on an otherwise disappointing day snowshoeing. The composition drew me in.
4. Now that I know what a tussock is I tend to agree. The space to the right creates imbalance. I'll be cropping as you suggested (I am less pure than you.....).
Thanks for the compliment BTW - Kenna is definitely one of my all time favorites.

When are we going to see more of your excellent work? I feel it has been a while......

Thanks, Alan.

It has been far too long. I've been having my house renovated, and working online from a flat with no internet connection, all under lockdown conditions. All this has kept me far too busy, but things are settling, so I hope to get more active shooting and processing soon. Great relief to find the removalists had NOT destroyed my printer after all. Small blessings...

Image one is my favorite...very cool pic

Thanks for your feedback Marcus, it's great to hear your voice.

Thanks for offering your perspective George
