Great blue heron unintentional camera movement

These shots are the result of failing to check all of my camera settings. I was on a small fishing boat heading down the river to get some shots of an eagle nest. We were just starting down the river when I saw the heron. Pulled the camera out of the bag flipped it to A and fired away, not checking the ISO thinking it was in auto, but it was set at the base resulting in too slow of a shutter for a moving boat and moving subject.

I kind of liked a few of the frames though and would be interested in any thoughts. It first two where you can actual make out the bird have been cropped and highlights pulled back and shadows up to bring out detail. the last two are straight out of camera.

Hi Troy, good to see you discovered the world of UCM😊
I like that the first image displays the essence of the Heron and captures the motion of flight. The others not so, although 4 presents a pleasant abstract.
If you find these interesting you should try some ICM. This can be difficult with birds/motion (take lots of photos, varying speed etc) but fun to try and results can be surprising.

Thanks Alan!
