The Line Of Time

Great work, Julian! One of your masterfully simple compositions. I love the harmony in the colours, especially the play of the gradation in the background against the rope. And then there are the textures. I could look at it for a long time.

And... shock! horror! - it's not shot on one of the latest mirrorless marvels! How is that possible? ;-)

Hey Chris, thanks for you kind words... As ALWAYS!
I do have to confess something. Over the the last couple of months I have fallen deeeeeply hopelessly uncontrollably in love with the Z9.
O.M.G!
So much so that I in an existential crisis that is making me shudder, or should I say shutter.
You know I am a founding member of the "Luddites For The Past!" Primal Group, but... the future is so amazing. I love what this new body can do and help me in translating what I see into files that are ever closer to that vision.

Technology does improve over time. Your lapse is graciously accepted...

I'm just envious. Can't afford to dump all my SLR gear nor justify replacing it all. Besides, still love my steam-punk AIs lenses.

That steam punk glass it the only thing holding me back... but with the FTZ II adapter I can still rock the old glass. There are some lenses that I will NEVER let go.
The future is ours Chris. If only we can have the courage and stupidity to embrace it!

Great colors. I'd also like to see a more abstract shot without the rope if you have one.

That's quite lovely, Julian :)

Late to the party on this one, but essentially agree with what Chris has to say.
Both color and texture work to build the image, with the rope adding that extra piece of interest.

FWIW - I personally care not whether your camera has a mirror or not, but as Chris am envious of those that can make that economic choice :-)

Since we're playing the 'cameras I would love to have if I had the money for a super yacht'.

I'll have a Phase One IQ4.

I'm happy enough with the my old gear; the newest thing I have is an A6000. I'll probably splurge on a Nikon D800 and a 16-35 sometime in the next year.
