What an intriguing image Charles. I really like the way the image is split in half by two distinctly different scenes. Kudos to you for even recognizing this potential.
Personally I would be tempted to crop a little from the top to remove some of that visual weight. I can see the framing you were after, I just think as is it unbalances the image a little.
As fore the resolution issue this is easily fixed by adding grain and producing perhaps more of a vintage look :-)
