On a visit to Maine I rose early one morning in the hope of catching sunrise at a local beach.
There was no sunrise to speak of, but as the sun rose and people started using the beach I was struck by the stark contrast of figures set against the harsh lighting of the surf.
Some of these have been posted before, some new and some reworked. My intent was to capture the mere essence of the subjects set against this shimmering backdrop.
I love the desaturation of color because it contributes to focusing on that contrast of figures. My favorites are numbers 3 and 5 - I appreciate figures being more defined with everything else abstract.
Thanks Jennifer, I always value your thoughtful feedback.
BTW - I currently have another image from this series on display as part of an international exhibit in gallery in Greece.
Just in case you're in the area :-)

Lol! At first I thought you meant a local Greece, not THE Greece! Congratulations on your "Beach Stroll" entry being accepted. Wish I could see it in person. What size is the print that will be hanging there?
