Kyle Foreman's picture

Bogue Inlet Pier

Having a drone has been a welcomed addition to my photography repertoire. I've had the drone for about 6 months and I still feel like I'm getting used to it. I think one of the more unique uses of the drone is getting a perspective pointing straight down. I had this composition in mind for a while once I got the drone and finally got a chance to do it on a recent trip to the beach. I feel like I never have anything to submit to this group but I think this is "minimalist" enough that it fits.

Hi Kyle, even if not minimal this can certainly be classified as experimental (we're not strict on categorization).

Lovely drone image, I've often toyed with the idea of getting one myself.

With time n my hands I did fall prey to my urge to tinker, primarily because my anal mind needed the pier to be absolutely vertical.

Great image, would like to see what else you can come up with.

Thanks Alan! The drone is definitely fun to play around with. To me I thought I did have the pier absolutely vertical but now that you say something it might be ever so slightly tilted. I tried my best to get this image perfectly symmetrical. In fact if/when I take this picture again I’ll also do better at getting the covered stations equally in the frame as well.

I love this, Kyle. The different textures are wonderful, and the colors are lovely. You're right about the covered stations being more equal, but otherwise, beautiful.

Thank you!
