Even using words, telling stories is tough, let alone trying to do it with an abstract or minimalist photo. This one really doesn't.

TBH Charles, I'm finding there is not enough detail in this image to convey a story at all.
Like Jennifer I am drawn to the textures of the bricks, but am finding the shadow difficult to read. Is it a light, with the suggestion of a window frame to the right?
Yup, it's an outdoor street lamp attached to the wall on the other side of the window (frame).
Seen it differently.
