Mobile Exploration

Rain. It's been awhile since we have had anything serious, so that means it's a great time for Photography. (but then when isn't it?)

On my morning walk I decided to follow through a local Disc Golf course. It is a bit "rustic" in nature.

One Tee Off location had rain pooling on the surface and I was attracted to the bubbles that were forming from the rain dollops dropping from the branches. I wasn't sure if my phone couple capture the bubbles, but I knew that reflection could be of interest.

I looked at my phone upside down and though...hum. I held my phone above the water and because I cannot change my aperture (f/1.7) I set my camera to:
ISO 50 for 1/250th at 4mm.

I flipped the photo in post.

The second photo was taken immediately afterwards for reference and I neglected to take the camera out of Pro Mode, so the focus is way off!

I always appreciate how you provide reference photos for your work. I like the gradation of concrete to abstract from top to bottom. Also the "accents" of the water drops. Almost feels like you're looking out a window.

Thank you Jennifer.

For myself when I an viewing a "creative" or unusual photograph my mind is wondering...'how did they do that?' Sometime I get it right and sometimes I am way out in left field from over-thinking the photo. That is why I like to post reference photos...in case anyone is interested and it sets them on a path to "Hey, I got an idea, what if...."

Thanks for posting Dean I appreciate the fact that you are getting outside, getting that camera out of your pocket and being creative.
I love the way reflections create such abstract images and ask questions of the brain.

I have been meaning to spend time in the rain myself, so this is acting as inspiration (and should do to others....).

Thanks for sharing

Thank you.

In Oregon the rainy season has begun, so stop on by anytime between now and the middle of June.
