Pastels over Chincoteague

I don't know why I never posted this earlier.

This past summer I spent a couple of days and nights in Chincoteague Island Virginia. This is the bridge onto the island shot from the downtown boardwalk on the river. The sunset created some very nice pastel colors. I think the bridge really adds a nice minimalist touch to the image. Without it, I think this would otherwise be lacking in something.

Beautiful pastel tones Kyle. I agree that the bridge adds to the image, as does the calmness of the water.

This is really lovely, Kyle! You're right about the bridge. It serves in the story as a bridge uniting the height of the sky with the depth of the sea allowing both of them to enjoy one another's company!

Hi Kyle Foreman,
Had first seen on bigger screen. Removed some "distractions" making the frame serene for vision to not stop at any element. May be very subtle, but if noticed, open for discussion.
cheers

Yes, I usually take the time to do all that. However, at the time when I was editing this, I wasn't planning on posting it here or putting it in my portfolio so I didn't take the time to do it. I does look better with those things removed!

Vijay's version is even more minimalist - it calls to my mind the work of Andreas Gursky - but I prefer yours. I like seeing the little details that "mar" an otherwise pristine scene, but for me actually add visual interest. OK, well, maybe not the ubiquitous Coke can...
