Since I retired I found I don't get as much (dreaded) exercise as I did working at various jobsites lugging my tool bag.
So. I decided to put my step counter to proper use. Currently I am at 75 consecutive days of walking 5 miles (or more) a day carrying my camera. It is the camera and potential of capturing a good photograph that gets me off my duff.
I chose my 100mm-500mm and started focusing on birds either resting or on flight, but if I don't capture the shot I don't let it upset me, which I attribute to Taoism as to quote Benjamín Hoff's book, "The Tao of Pooh":
“The Christmas presents once opened are Not So Much Fun as they were while we were in the process of examining, lifting, shaking, thinking about, and opening them.”
I did not capture a bird yesterday, but I had a great walk with my wife when suddenly I had to over-reach my step to avoid a disaster, and came away with this. Nothing epic, but it makes me happy.
The Christmas presents quote from Hoff is perfect! Good post and nice photo too - thank you!
I actually really like this one Dean. I would be happy with that......
