With a new year comes a new challenge, this being to present something NEW to you.
I like to keep the challenges open to interpretation and creative thinking. In that respect NEW could be interpreted as new work you have just created, or a new project you are undertaking.
Thinking broader, you could present a new technique you are trying out, the results from that new camera/lens you received from Santa, or perhaps that new addition to your family etc.
As always with these challenges the scope goes well beyond our group MAE confines, so feel free to flex you artistic muscles.
To kick things off I have included some images just processed from our first (and only) snowstorm this month. Yes, fresh NEW snow presented in NEW images.....
Not the best, but I couldn't pass up what turned out to be a fleeting opportunity (presented as I sit here waiting/hoping for the snow to return....).
Feedback (good OR bad, from rookie OR veteran) as always is encouraged and appreciated - let's get these discussions rolling!
Photo 1~ I would have like to have seen all the branches on the first tree. The accidental crop doesn't add to the story.
Photo 2~ You have three layers of depth: foreground/first tree, second tree and hedge, sky. However, you have two trees and the composition feels unbalanced. I feel a stronger photo would have been the distant tree and hedge. A bit more minimalist.
Photo 3~ Too bad you weren't there 50 people earlier and caught virgin snow fall with no footsteps. I do love the splash of color in the otherwise monochromatic scene. I think I may have staged someone riding a bicycle...which would have been me on the bike.
Photo 4~ Lines, colors, textures...oh my! I like how the birch breaks up the symmetry.
Yes, these photos of opportunity will help you when scouting your next snowfall.
Thank you for posting, Mr. Brown.
Thanks for the feedback Dean, I'll certainly bear that in mind next time I venture out.
