With the snow and resulting ice this week, Harry and I could not walk safely as often as usual (he went onto our rear deck.) Except for the first one, which was shot yesterday before the latest snow, it was still snowing when I shot them from the dry (not warm) safety of my garage looking up toward the cul-de-sac.
They are all multiple exposures that have been merged, beginning with Photoshop's auto-alignment tool. I used Photoshop's auto-blend tool on the first three, made some minor color and exposure corrections, and then made the final cropping.
The other two were more complex. Originally there were 14 images in one sequence and eight in the other, but I did not use all of them. After the auto-alignment, I made each selection of the kid a separate layer and put those layers at the very top of the layer stack, rearranging their order for as little overlap as possible. I used auto-blend on the original images underneath the kid layers. I merged the underlying layers and then merged the kid layers and then merged the resulting layers. At that point, I made the usual color and exposure adjustments and the final cropping.
These are really fun, Andrew; I love the boy shoveling! Great idea, and thanks for sharing it.
